The debate is controversial for a few reasons. Most apparent are the reasons that faith based groups have, which is their on message mantra that first ascribes to abstinence only. Handing out condoms, they believe, would also encourage homosexuality. This is to be expected, as this debate has been going on for years. The second issue is that of sexually activity in prisons. Sexual contact is prohibited inside prison walls and legislators along with some at the prison facilities believe handing out condoms would encourage sexual contact.

Sexual activity is going to occur regardless of whether or not it is prohibited, 1 percent of inmates are raped and while a perpetrator may not use a condom it is pretty irresponsible to restrict access to condoms. Rev. Doris Green, director of community affairs for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago is pushing hard for the bill. She explains to the Trib that she is concerned for the African American community, which accounts for half of the nationwide case of HIV/AIDS. As she explains, "It's about more than just the prisoners." As the men are released they may pass along the infection to family or someone else.

Demonstrators Seek to Convert Homosexuals

Demonstrators from the anti-gay group Repent America showed up at PCC on Wednesday to "spread the word of God," but they encountered stiff resistance from a number of students, many of whom belonged to the Rainbow Student Alliance.

"This is an outright attack," said student Mitch Zeider. "These people are not spreading love, they are spreading hatred."

Repent America member Jim Deferio, however, thought otherwise. "People that argue against what we have to preach are usually just trying to get something off their chest," he said. "We're here to spread the word of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, but these people seem more interested in attacking us. We don't use the language they use, and, when they hit us, we don't hit them back."

Student Bee Lupia, who was one of the more vocal protesters, seemed pleased that the group was on campus. "These guys are doing nothing more than harrassing students," she said. "I'm happy that they're out here, though, because many gays are extremely offended and they are letting these people know exactly how they feel."

According to Deferio, PCC was not singled out. "We go on college campuses all around the southland and try to make these people understand what it is we're trying to preach."

In addition to alienating homosexuals, the group also spoke out against murderers/babykillers, moneygrubbers, and "mouthy women."

"I feel that these people are condemning everyone," said Annie Bohnstedt. "It seems that Everyone is on their list."

"This is the typical response we get wherever we go," said Repent America member Paul Johnson.

"I'm sad that we're acting this way, because it's all out of defense," said Zeider. "We don't deserve to be treated like this."

Charlene E. Cothran, a prominent homosexual activist and publisher and editor-in-chief of the black homosexual-oriented publication “Venus Magazine,” recently announced that she had embraced Christianity and renounced homosexuality.

Cothran’s announcement came in the form of a cover article in the February issue of “Venus” titled “Redeemed! 10 Ways to Get Out of the Gay Life, If You Want Out.” The magazine, once considered by many to be the leading magazine for homosexual African Americans, has changed its tune.

“Over the past 29 years of my life I have been an aggressive, creative and strategic supporter of gay and lesbian issues,” Cothran wrote. “I’ve organized and participated in countless marches and various lobbying efforts in the fight for equal treatment of gay and lesbians.”

A few paragraphs later Cothran dropped her bombshell, “But now, I must come out of the closet again.” She continued, “I have recently experienced the power of change that came over me once I completely surrendered to the teachings of Jesus Christ.”

Cothran goes on to explain in the remainder of the article how a “chance” encounter with a pastor resulted in her giving her heart and soul to the Lord. “A river of tears flowed as Jesus washed me and forgave me and redeemed me for His work,” Cothran wrote.

Coming to Christ caused Cothran to view her lesbianism in a new light.

“As a believer of the word of God, I fully accept and have always known that same-sex relationships are not what God intended for us,” she wrote.

“Jesus will cleanse and forgive all confessed sin from a willing heart,” Cothran declared. “Homosexuality is only one of them. It is no greater sin than any of the others, but it is a sin.”

Cothran went on in the article to share 10 ways homosexuals could leave the homosexual lifestyle behind. One of the steps is to “seek the truth within the scriptures about homosexuality.” What all six or seven lines... what about those 100= things that heterosexuals should do.

“Know that we were NOT born this way,” she wrote, and added, “Gay theology starts with an agenda [‘Let’s make the bible say gay is O.K.’] in order to arrive at its conclusions, but it is a lie.” who ever said the bible was the only right source to learn from, a book written by men.....

Stroll through any neighborhood with an open laptop in hand and you will probably notice your machine automatically connecting to various wireless Internet routers that local residents have set up. If you are given a connection that allows you to surf the Web, chances are very good that you can also assume control over the same network that gave you the access.

In my experience, few people who operate wide-open wireless networks -- those unprotected by even the simplest encryption technology -- ever bother to change the default user name and password needed to reconfigure the router. Perhaps consumers who operate open networks aren't terribly worried about their neighbors "sniffing" the ambient wireless airwaves for passwords and other sensitive data. But it may be that a person running a router under the default factory settings has more to fear from a malicious Web site than a local interloper.

Researchers at Symantec Corp. have devised a series of "proof-of-concept" exploits that show how an Internet user running any one of several name-brand, $50 - $100 routers under the default factory settings could be in a world of trouble in a very short time, just by browsing to a malicious Web site. One of the easiest ways to commandeer a factory-set wireless router remotely is through the use of Javascript, a powerful Web programming language that makes it easy for Web sites to monkey with or otherwise manipulate a computer's settings.

For example, a nasty site could use Javascript to change the default settings on a router so that anytime the victim tries to visit a bank Web site he or she is silently redirected to a counterfeit site set up to steal online banking credentials (this is a type of phishing attack known as "pharming.") Or, the attackers could poke holes in the router's built-in firewall to allow certain types of traffic to slip through.

Is a word just a word or a weapon?

For the last few weeks there as been a lot of talk about the F word, no THE F word but the other one that we all have been call sometime in our lives. The Word in question is FAGGOT, or the short version FAG. Some have asked if the F word is the new N word...

Like the N word the F word is used by both. It’s used by fellow F’ers and those whom don’t like us. In the same text as the N word. The meaning of the word Nigger is as follow:

Today, the implied racism of the term is so strong that the use of nigger in most situations is a social taboo in English-speaking countries. Many American magazines and newspapers will not even print the word in full, instead using n*gg*r, n**ger, n——, or simply "the N-word." However, some African Americans use the word as a term of endearment and familiarity (see nigga, hip hop culture).

Like other racism words that had die out or used very little in today worlds, the N word is mostly kept alive by those who hate it the most.

The Gay and Lesbian community, use the F-word just as much, we also used bitch, queen, slut and a few others. Yet we don’t like for Str* people to call use those words, just like African Americans don’t like for whites to them nigger’s, but it’s ok for other blacks to call other black’s nigger.

I personally will say that I have used both words in friendly passing and when I was pissed. I have met some that claim that they have never call an African American a nigger. I can only suggest that both words shouldn’t be used at all. Then in time those words would lose their power.

Just like what Mo'Nique said about the word bitch, we give that word so much power that we are willing to leave a relationships, and friendships.

On the lighter side what about the word wigger: Wigger (alternatively spelled wigga or whigger or whigga) is a slang term that refers to a white person who emulates mannerisms, slangs and fashions stereo typically associated with urban African Americans; especially in relation to hip hop culture.

The term is a portmanteau combining the words white and nigger, and it has been used in a derogatory manner. The term wigger is generally used to describe a young, white mimicker of certain affectations of hip hop and thug culture. The word is considered offensive by some because of its similarity to nigger, and because it reflects stereotypical notions about urban blacks.

I wonder how in today’s world this word would be used and the effects it would have on people.

Court Says FBI Can Use Your Cell Phone To Spy... On You

Cell phone users, beware. The FBI can listen to everything you say, even when the cell phone is turned off.

A recent court ruling in a case against the Genovese crime family revealed that the FBI has the ability from a remote location to activate a cell phone and turn its microphone into a listening device that transmits to an FBI listening post, a method known as a "roving bug." Experts say the only way to defeat it is to remove the cell phone battery.

"The FBI can access cell phones and modify them remotely without ever having to physically handle them," James Atkinson, a counterintelligence security consultant, told ABC News. "Any recently manufactured cell phone has a built-in tracking device, which can allow eavesdroppers to pinpoint someone's location to within just a few feet," he added.

According to the recent court ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, "The device functioned whether the phone was powered on or off, intercepting conversations within its range wherever it happened to be."

The court ruling denied motions by 10 defendants to suppress the conversations obtained by "roving bugs" on the phones of John Ardito, a high-ranking member of the family, and Peter Peluso, an attorney and close associate of Ardito, who later cooperated with the government. The "roving bugs" were approved by a judge after the more conventional bugs planted at specified locations were discovered by members of the crime family, who then started to conduct their business dealings in several additional locations, including more restaurants, cars, a doctor's office and public streets.

"The courts have given law enforcement a blank check for surveillance," Richard Rehbock, attorney for defendant John Ardito, told ABC News.

Judge Kaplan's ruling said otherwise. "While a mobile device makes interception easier and less costly to accomplish than a stationary one, this does not mean that it implicated new or different privacy concerns." He continued, "It simply dispenses with the need for repeated installations and surreptitious entries into buildings. It does not invade zones of privacy that the government could not reach by more conventional means."

But Rehbock disagrees. "Big Brother is upon us...1984 happened a long time ago," he said, referring to the George Orwell futuristic novel "1984," which described a society whose members were closely watched by those in power and was published in 1949.

The FBI maintains the methods used in its investigation of the Genovese family are within the law. "The FBI does not discuss sensitive surveillance techniques other than to emphasize that any electronic surveillance is done pursuant to a court order and ongoing judicial scrutiny," Agent Jim Margolin told ABC News.

Well today is abit sad and lonely. It rain here last nite and now it wet and cold. I'm stuck in the house with nothing else to do but surf the web.

All house work was done last nite, a nice big pot of chicken stew was fixed last night as well. I guess that will be my lunch today.

I see that Mark Foley sex scandal is really getting out of hand. I know that if it was any one else the FBI or Local law enforcement officials would have arrest them by now. I sit here and think of all the under age boy/guy that wanted to chat with me in the yahoo, aol chatroom that I turn away. I wonder how many have been cops. i remember this one kid who tried to get me to view his web cam, in one the user chat room on yahoo, which are no longer. I ask him why he wanted me to view his cam. He ever did give me an answer. I sure he was a cop.

I see the BGB is now offering blogging services... I might have to check in to this a bit more.

I live out in the county, where Dsl and Cable is not. So my internet is dail up... It's like waiting for God..

However, the family next door to me has Hughes Satellite Internet service.. and a wifi home network system, and I'm in range... Yes I have been stealing broadband, and it feel so good. Right, Not,. I have check into get this service, after using it for while I have decide not to. the only good thing about satellite internet is to download only. loading web pages, take just as long as dail-up in most cases.

so it even pay 24/m for dial up or 50/m for high-speed.

I would have to wonder if its really worth it..

We wish to express our serious concern with AOL's adoption of Goodmail's CertifiedEmail, which is a threat to the free and open Internet.

This system would create a two-tiered Internet in which affluent mass emailers could pay AOL a fee that amounts to an "email tax" for every email sent, in return for a guarantee that such messages would bypass spam filters and go directly to AOL members' inboxes. Those who did not pay the "email tax" would increasingly be left behind with unreliable service. Your customers expect that your first obligation is to deliver all of their wanted mail, and this plan is a step away from that obligation.

AOL's "email tax" is the first step down a slippery slope that will harm the Internet itself. The Internet is a revolutionary force for free speech, civic organizing, and economic innovation precisely because it is open and accessible to all Internet users equally. On a free and open Internet, small ideas can become big ideas overnight. As Internet advocacy groups, charities, non-profits, businesses, civic organizing groups, and email experts, we ask you to reconsider your pay-to-send proposal and to keep the Internet free.

A pay-to-send system won't help the fight against spam - in fact, this plan assumes that spam will continue and that mass mailers will be willing to pay to have their emails bypass spam filters. And non-paying spammers will not reduce the amount of mail they throw at your filters simply because others pay to evade them.

Perversely, the new two-tiered system AOL proposes would actually reward AOL financially for failing to maintain its email service. The chief advantage of paying to send CertifiedEmail is that it can bypass AOL's spam filters. Non-paying customers are being asked to trust that after paid mail goes into effect, AOL will properly maintain its spam filters so only unwanted mail gets thrown away.

But the economic incentives point the other way: The moment AOL switches to a two-tiered Internet where giant emailers pay for preferential service, AOL will face a simple business choice: spend money to keep regular spam filters up-to-date, or make money by neglecting their spam filters and pushing more senders to pay for guaranteed delivery. Poor delivery of mail turns from being a problem that AOL has every incentive to fix to something that could actually make them money if the company ignores it.

The bottom-line is that charging an "email tax" actually gives AOL a financial incentive to degrade email for non-paying senders. This would disrupt the communications of millions who cannot afford to pay your fees-including the non-profits, civic organizations, charities, small businesses, and community mailing lists that have arisen for every topic under the sun and that make email so vital to your subscribers.

And what if other Internet service providers retaliate and start demanding their own ransoms to accept mail from your millions of users? Your company works hard to simplify the Internet. Don't start a surcharge war that will complicate it with tiered services and dozens of middleman fees for every simple act of communication.

We have always been happy working together with you to fight spam and phishing. We have a common enemy in spammers. We are happy to work together to develop open approaches that attack the problem of spam and phishing. But a pay-to-send "certified" system does not help to fight spam. We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.

President Bush raised some eyebrows last month when he spoke of fighting 'Islamic fascism.' Some Muslims were upset, including Parvez Ahmed, chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who said in an open letter to the president that the term 'contributes to a rising level of hostility to Islam and the American-Muslim community.'

In his Sept. 11 address, Bush toned down his description to 'perverted vision of Islam.'

I'm not a Muslim, but to me, either description seems appropriate.

The term 'fascism' was originally used by Italy's dictator, Benito Mussolini, in the 1930s and '40s, and exalted the state and race above the individual. In more recent usage, 'fascism' refers to autocratic or dictatorial control. When you combine the current usage with the fact that terrorists have justified their actions through their faith in Islam, then 'Islamic fascism' seems reasonable.

Islamic leaders such as Ahmed are rightly concerned about hostility, but his complaintswould carry more weight if the worldwide Muslim communityloudly condemned acts of terrorism and the fringe theology that condones them.

A good case study, on a much smaller scale, of how radical religion should be treated can be found here in Kansas. Fred Phelps, the Christian minister from Topeka, spews his hatred of homosexuals and our country wherever he can and to whomever he pleases. But he is roundly condemned by most Christians. Even people who agree with him in principle about the immorality of homosexuality are quick to criticize his methodology and rigid theology.

The Muslim community in Wichita has strongly condemned terrorism and the perversion of Islam. But the worldwide community needs to make a concerted, unified effort to marginalize and shrink the radical elements within its faith. Until then, the complaints about using the fascist label likely won't carry much weight with many non-Muslims.

Religion should be used to make a positive change in people. I chose Christianity because I believe its teachings are true. Millions of others have chosen Islam for the same reason. We may disagree, but we shouldn't use our faith as a justification to hate or hurt others.

Author Jonathan Swift made a wise point when he acknowledged a potential shortcoming of faith:

'We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.'

Let's not use religion as a justification for hate. And let's not stand by as others pervert faith, using hatred for their own gain.

ACLU challenges Ohio's anti-Phelps law as too broad

Cleveland--The ACLU of Ohio is challenging a new state law intended to keep a notorious anti-gay preacher from picketing the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq.

The legislature passed the Rest in Peace Act last spring. The ACLU says the measure is overly broad and filed suit against it on August 24, shortly after it took effect.

The act was a reaction to protests by Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, an unaffiliated congregation with a history of virulently anti-gay rhetoric.

Phelps’ church, which is mostly his extended family, has traveled the country since the early 1990s, protesting funerals of people who died of AIDS and hate crime victims like Matthew Shepard. They wave signs reading “God hates fags” and “Thank God for 9/11.”

In the past year, the group has taken to picketing the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq, promoting Phelps’ line that God is punishing soldiers because the United States shelters homosexuals and is filled with “fag enablers.”

The church’s protests led to a federal law barring demonstrations at federal cemeteries, and states across the country have passed similar measures.

Ohio’s law bans protests during funerals and an hour before or afterward, creating a 300-foot protest-free zone around the funeral home, cemetery and funeral procession.

“The ban is far too broad,” said ACLU of Ohio legal director Jeffrey Gamso. “The time restraints, free speech ‘bubble’ and the fact that it will move with the funeral procession will effectively prohibit protesting for large amounts of time in many communities around Ohio.”

“If a political group wanted to have a demonstration on Main Street and a funeral procession was driving by, they would not be permitted to continue, even if the protest has nothing to do with the funeral,” he said. “That is clearly too strict and would severely limit free speech.”

Similar laws have been challenged in other states, including Kentucky, though none of those challenges have yet been decided.

ACLU of Ohio Executive Director Chris Link brought up the example of striking workers picketing outside their place of employment. She said that, as the law stands, if a funeral procession drove by, the workers would have to stop.

The Westboro demonstrators have spurred another backlash: the Patriot Guard Riders, a group of 53,000 people nationwide who attend military funerals to show their respect and, if need be, block protesters from view.

Patriot Guard Riders were present at the funeral earlier this year of Mark Todd Shinkle, the president of the Buckeye Region American Veterans for Equal Rights.

“We do it to respect and honor the soldier and support the family,” Bob “Tater” Smith, a Sandusky veteran, told the Toledo Blade of the Patriot Guard Riders’ mission. The group has 1,600 members in Ohio.

Smith believes the Rest in Peace Act is unnecessary and will be more trouble than it’s worth.

“They threaten more than they show up,” he said of Westboro Baptist Church. “If you ignore them, they just go away. Our way costs a lot less for the taxpayers.”

Well today was very eventful, i mean really how much can one take before snapping.

I sat at my computer surfing the net, search for a great blog theme to use and to get it to work.

While doing this my neices got into a fight over something very stupid. I told them to go to their rooms.

Afterwards I got back doing what I was doing before the fight. I found a theme that I like so I download the package then i uploaded all the images, then I update the html codes.

I hate the weekend simply because there is nothing good on.
